2.5 Day throwing Course

2.5 day wheel throwing course - September 19th and 20th ( Full days) and September 27th (Half day)
£260.00

Develop your wheel throwing skills in this relaxed and supportive 2½ day pottery course in Kimbolton, designed for those with some previous experience on the wheel.

During the full throwing day (10:30–16:30), you’ll focus on developing throwing techniques, making a range of forms while building confidence and consistency on the wheel. The session will cover making mugs and jugs, working with larger amounts of clay, and exploring more advanced forms such as lidded pots, galleries, and belly shapes. Demonstrations will be given throughout the course by potters Zoe and Ellie, with plenty of individual guidance and support.

The second full day will be dedicated to turning and refining your pots, including trimming, adding handles, and exploring decorative details to finish your pieces.

A few weeks later, once your work has been bisque fired, you’ll return for a final half-day glazing session (10:30–13:00), where you’ll glaze your pots ready for their final firing.

With a maximum of just 5 students per class, everyone has their own wheel and receives plenty of one-to-one tuition.

This course is ideal for anyone who has completed a beginners’ wheel throwing course or already has some experience working with clay. Being able to centre confidently on the wheel will be helpful for getting the most from the course.

Course structure

  • 1 full throwing day 10:30–16:30

  • 1 full refining & decorating day 10:30–16:30

  • 1 glazing session (held a few weeks later) 10:30–13:00

Led by potters Zoe and Ellie in a small, friendly studio environment.
